[shenhe is in the warehouse, tonight, settled against the wall. she's eased up against the one with the lanterns and lotuses, eyes closed, breathing even. in and out. it's quiet here. she needs that.]
[ nahri trudges wetly into the warehouse, leaving a drippy trail as she does so. the water has completely deflated her hair and causes her tshirt dress to stick to her scrawny little frame.
[it's a little late, when shenhe comes to find nahri. wherever nahri is - whether it's the warehouse or outside or whatever, shenhe doesn't get too close.
instead, she stands a few feet away, and tries about three times to say something and kind of just fails. good job, good talk.]
[it's probably a little into the evening - shenhe is sitting in the middle of the library, looking through a book. the title seems to be The Boar Princess, and she's very engrossed in whatever tale it's telling.
[ this time, there's any demure sadness or anxiety. there's the usual concern, but it's masked by something else. there's anger, at whoever undid the psych that would have made this trial just a little less painful for shenhe. there's fear, at what shenhe is going to do.
of course nahri has to go find her. this time, she hesitates to come in with any gentle touches or hugs. but she wants her to know she's there, just in case.
but something tells her that shenhe really needs this moment to work through what just happened, even if it's in a way that nahri doesn't particularly like. ]
[ oh the vibes are rancid. nahri didn't even look, but she knows. she could hear what was happening, and she could feel what was happening to shenhe.
