i rolled a THREE OOGH so what happens is she can't break through his barrier, even though she really fucking tries. she even gets rid of the polearm after a second so she can beat the shit out of his shield with her fists. it takes thirty seconds for her to light them on fire, switching between abilities, but she does.
don't keep it in. it's embarrassing, there's that - burning sensation behind her eyes again. it builds up in her throat and sticks there. it makes her angry. it makes her want to kill something, and think about what you wanted to say or do if you were there with her makes her let out a strangled noise, almost feral, as she slams her fists down against the barrier.]
If this was weeks ago, then he'd relish this. He'd relish that expression on Shenhe's face, the way she's falling prey to those emotions she said she never wanted to lose control over.
But he feels nothing like that as Shenhe hammers blows onto that shield as if she could just reach down and tear him apart. He just waits for two things -- either for the rage to burn itself out, or for it to smother him.
