There's this island off the coast, right? It used to be a mining island, and they'd cart the coal down to the pier. But the island wasn't really conducive to it, so a lot of the projects and infrastructure got abandoned and discontinued before even being used.

Not really—I think it was just so hard to get them that it stopped being worth the effort after a while.

That is also true. I have found that mortals are much better at improvising than any adeptus I've ever met.

The adepti live in the mountains, and rarely involve themselves with mortal affairs. Up until recently, Rex Lapis, the Prime of the Adepti, would only come to Liyue Harbor during the annual Rite of Descension to give guidance to his people.
