she's absolutely in a tree, staring into the distance. when she hears jonas, she tenses, and then looks down at him.]
... I wanted to see him make it. He was so afraid he wasn't going to. [she says, and her emotions are muted, but. she's seething. it's coming off of her in waves.]
[ ...he had been mad. and he still is mad. but hearing that is a little more soulcrushing than he'd thought it'd be considering he only knew the guy for a week and some change.
he's scaling the tree to climb up now, thanks. ]
I did, too. [ he hadn't really known rin's full feelings on this game, but he liked him enough. thought they could maybe be friends for a while. ] I think that's what feels so shitty about all of it even more than just someone being dead at all.
May as well add me to the list. That's what this game's all about isn't it? High rewards at a high risk. You do something like this, you have to be ready to have a lot of angry people on your hands.
[ this game really is just "fuck around and find out." ]
Less people would have been angry if it had been someone like me, or Rang. An adult, who is able to defend themselves. The logical choice would have been someone who is less well-liked, if they wanted to get away with it.
Which makes you wonder if they really do care about getting away with it? Their team's still gonna get the points. [ it's kind of a throwaway comment because he doesn't mean it. ] ...chances are it's someone who wouldn't have been able to take on an adult who could defend themselves in the first place.
[whoever it was must've either not wanted a fight, or wouldn't have been able to win one.]
This would be much easier if we did not have to guess who did it. [like, duh, but she's so used to just being able to suplex her problems that this drives her crazy.]
Tell me about it. [ he is equally annoyed. ] But we have to keep it together for Rin's sake. I doubt he would've wanted us fighting people to try and solve the problem, so...it sucks, but we have to try and stay focused to work on it another way.

Someone is playing the game. But they could have chosen someone else first. [instead of an easy target, like, come on!!]

I have spoken to a few people who would like to kill the culprit themselves.

Is this a warning? [don't suplex people or else
it's teasing, a bit. she doesn't think he's scolding her.]

Maybe more like a reminder for the both of us. Just in case.
