[he doesn't get to walk she's carrying him the whole way]
Nothing in particular, though. [we didn't get that far but i assume he did] Just the city. If you'd like to show me something specific I wouldn't mind.
Shu showed me a carnival. Yuzuriha showed me the place she grew up. [she has been collecting these] I took Wolfwood to Liyue and showed him trees.
not really only some kinds. if he makes a little bit of a face at it like what do you expect at this point.
but anyway! once fei du's on his feet, he will go over to help her with the machine, frowning a little at the chances remark but letting it be for now? let him be techy. dicking around with vr headsets is one of many rich boy hobbies so he knows how to work it...actually, fairly well? wow. anyway. ]
...Here. Try those settings, and we can put the headset on whenever you're ready.
anyway she always says stuff like this and people frown at her but she's just being realistic?? after matsui and rang got bunted off this plane of existence she gave up on thinking the competition would be any sort of fair.
she watches him fiddle with it, and then nods.]
Alright. Let's do it, then.
[and she'll put on the headset!
when fei du puts his on, he'll be greeted with the streets of liyue at night. it's a port city, so they're right next to the water, with docks that lead down to a bunch of different ships both large and fishing boat sized alike. on the other side are mountains, and in the distance he can see a large floating building, watching over the city.
it really is breathtaking. she lives in the mountains nearby, but this city is much more interesting. also i love all of liyue's music in general so makes you listen to it.]
[ yeah ask him his shreelings (shrimp feelings) sometime
anyway!!!! LIYUE TIME. first of all, wow, it's gorgeous. the ancient architecture isn't unfamiliar - it's like a trip into a historic monument or the forbidden city, with the curved roofs and the red buildings. fei du's china is modern and sleek, all skyscrapers and steel, but this is like something out of a storybook.
it's lovely - he glances to the side, and smiles a little seeing at how well shenhe fits in. ]
Wow.
[ the word's soft, round with impression. ] This is the sort of view you get to see all the time, Shenhe? It's gorgeous.
she looks like she feels better here, honestly! it's... nice. it isn't exactly home, because those are the mountains, but this feels so much more familiar to her that she actually is relaxed. it's quiet, save for the bustle of night market, just people talking and laughing and enjoying meals together.]
I hadn't realized how much I missed it.
I would show you the mountains, but it is a little boring there, for someone like you.
cute... very cute. fei du looks around the sights with just the slightest bit of wonder on his face. this really is fascinating - the people, the smells, the sounds. it's street culture in the way that he almost never sees, a place that's lively. fei du's a son of the city, after all, even if its just the upper echelon.
the mountains comment makes him laugh. ] What, do you think I'm not good at hiking?
[ fei du says. this is a check he will never be able to cash. see him wheezing his way up a mountain in an hour.
anyway that's not happening now though, so he will let shenhe lead, though... the flicker catches his eye! he makes a soft noise, and gestures with his head towards it? ]
[ hmmm.... he looks at it a little longer, even as shenhe is starting to pull him away, curious, but he will respect her wishes and allows shenhe to pull him past it, getting tugged off towards the restaurant. ]
Mmm. Well, it's your reality - if I need to adjust it for you...?
... Alright. Let's go, then. [she's reluctant, but. if it's here, she imagines it won't go away until she does something about it. so. off to the cave entrance - where she like. visibly hesitates at the front of. there's nothing there. there wouldn't be. there shouldn't be.]
[she says, after a moment. she will just. pull him into the cave, walking out into the middle of it. there's an altar, in the middle. in reality, there was blood on it, but not here. not in her memory of the place.]

I don't really have anything terribly exciting to show you - my life is pretty boring. Wenzhou and I see most of the same things every day.
[ but he will think about it on the way there as he is being ferried about by his emotional support bird... off to the vr room.... ]
Trees, huh. I'm excited to see your Liyue trees. [ affectionate ]
no subject
[huff. off to the vr room! she'll carry him until they're in the room itself, and then she'll gently put him down.]
But... yes. I am excited to show them to you. I thought my chances of seeing Teyvat again were low.
[she's gonna. struggle with this machine. help]

[ he's not, ]

[she just says this with so much confidence i'm sorry]
There is less to do there. Nothing like racing a motorcycle.
[she will rest her hand on his arm and lead him down the street, towards a restaurant.
there's a little bit of a flicker in the distance. weird.]

What's that?

she looks, when he asks, but. she pauses.]
... Something that should not be here. [a pause.] Hm. Perhaps if we ignore it.
[already tugging him towards the restaurant again no thank you]

Mmm. Well, it's your reality - if I need to adjust it for you...?

[it won't be but it's fine
the cave is a little bigger the next time he looks over at it. hm.]

anyway!!! fei du glances at the cave, too, frowning as he reaches out to gently touch her arm. ]
Is it on your mind? Whatever that is.
no subject
[she says finally, frowning.]
You don't need to see it. [...] It typically upsets people.
no subject
...I happen to make a hobby out of understanding the depths of people's minds, you know.
[ he gives a small nod of his head to the cave. ] If it'll help, let's see it.
no subject
There is no depth.
[ok]

[ shenhe will have no idea what that means for so many reasons but.
he shifts a little where they're walking, and after a moment, offers her his hand? ]
This place is significant, somehow. Right?
no subject
Yes. [staring at the cave entrance...] I was left here.
no subject
[ gently. ]

no subject
Left you for dead?
no subject
[she says, after a moment. she will just. pull him into the cave, walking out into the middle of it. there's an altar, in the middle. in reality, there was blood on it, but not here. not in her memory of the place.]
I was meant to be a trade.
