[ he didn't have any luck in his own investigations today, and it means he's still wandering around trying to figure out what to do. everyone else is out and around, and he's at least noticed some in passing, but he's not thinking about that.
instead he's heading to the park and wandering straight to the single tree, not giving it a second thought before hoisting himself up into it and onto a branch.
he probably should have expected shenhe to be here, but he still startles a little at her appearance. ]
[she is a little startled by his sudden presence as well, but she eases when she realizes it's him. she will help him stabilize on the tree, and then lets out a little sigh.]
Me too? [she's not sure what he's asking - she's already made one or two people mad today by being flippant about this so she's trying to... not do that.]
The, uh. The tree. [ he doesn't outright say it, but he means "are you a little overwhelmed by everything happening even though it was pretty much expected? are we hiding for a bit. cool." ]
Oh, yes. [she doesn't quite get all the context but like - the tree is their safe spot, and she is absolutely overwhelmed by people who are even a little bit upset by this. so.]
I don't know how to comfort people. [wait.] Um. Are you alright?
[ HELP, SHENHE. he looks confused for a second, blinking at her before there's a huff. ]
You don't...have to worry about me. I liked the guy enough but we weren't close or anything. Plus it helps that I was sort of expecting this to happen.
I didn't either. We didn't even notice at first until I tried to go out last night. And then we tried a couple of things to get out and...nothing. We didn't have an exit at all. I heard the shops all locked down, too.
We noticed the signals on our phones went out first. [she says this like it's a foreign concept, which it is.] The IKEA closed, and there was what felt like a rock wall blocking our way out.
[he might see that her foot is bandaged with the remains of one of the tie-dye shirts, on that note.]
None of us knew. [ annoying. ] We weren't sure if the shops would close or not. All four of us were in our warehouse when we got locked in. Door wouldn't budge no matter what we tried, and even trying to teleport out didn't work.
[ glancing at her foot. remembering how they met. slowly. realizing. ]
Kazuki and I both tried. [ and he pauses, suddenly seeming a little sheepish before changing his mind. ] We gave up once we realized we weren't getting anywhere and spent the rest of the time trying to figure out why it was happening at all.

Okay, so that's. That's at least six different teams, counting you. [ HOW. ] I'm guessing everyone lost track of time...?

[a short, frustrated sigh.] I didn't know each area would close off.
Fei Du and Luo Wenzhou were chasing their cat. I don't know what the others were doing there.
